My name is Owais Khoso. I have had a few terrifying experiences in my life, but the most horrifying one still gives me chills. I want to share it with you.
In the winter of 2013, either December or January, we went hunting after sunset as usual. We ventured deep into the mountains. Hunters usually release one or two trained dogs first. When the dogs find something, they bark, and then we release the rest of the dogs. If the dogs take too long to return, the owner blows a whistle to call them back.
That evening, after about half an hour, all the dogs returned, but my dog didn’t. The other boys waited for about an hour, but the dog didn't show up. It was around 1 AM, and the temperature was freezing. The boys suggested we head back and said the dog would likely return by morning. But my friend and I, who were very keen on hunting, decided to wait a little longer.
After waiting a bit more, with no sign of the dog, we decided to move forward. We walked for about an hour in the forest, blowing the whistle occasionally. Eventually, the dog returned, and we were relieved because losing such a valuable hunting dog is very distressing.
We started heading back home. It was so cold that we didn’t want to pull our hands out from under the covers. As we walked, the dog began acting strangely, barking and trying to break free. My friend wanted to let the dog go, but I was afraid it might run away again.
Despite searching the area with a flashlight, we found nothing that might have attracted the dog. Then, suddenly, it seemed like something hit the dog hard, causing it to yelp and run back to us. We decided to check where the dog was acting so aggressively.
When we reached the spot, we found nothing unusual. We were used to hunting, so the thought of something unusual happening hadn’t crossed our minds. We decided to continue our way back.
However, as we walked through a narrow path between the mountains, we heard something moving above us, crashing through the bushes. When we shined the torch, the noise stopped abruptly. The dog became even more agitated. I told my friend to check what was going on, but he said it was too late and we should go home.
As we continued, we saw a shadow-like figure of what looked like a large animal moving in front of us. It passed us quickly and disappeared down the slope. It was so sudden that neither of us could react properly.
My friend advised reciting prayers for protection and moving quickly. We managed to get home, but the experience left us terrified. That night, I felt like I was going to faint from fear. Even now, recalling that night gives me chills. The fear was so intense that I felt I might collapse. The dog, too, was very distressed, and we got home as quickly as possible.
The next morning, I took the dog to a friend’s house, and when I was heading back home alone, I heard a cat’s meow, but when I looked, there was nothing there. I felt like someone was watching me from above. I eventually reached home, and after a few days of high fever and severe anxiety, I told my family what happened. The village Imam came to perform some rituals and told us that such things were common in that old area. He recounted a similar story about someone who had died under mysterious circumstances there.
