My name is Ali, and the story I’m sharing is about my cousin Arib, who is no longer with us. This happened about 15 years ago when I was 18 and Arib was 22. One day, he planned a trip with some friends and cousins. Our families were hesitant because they thought we would misbehave, but we convinced them. We left at 4 AM, planning to go to Kallar, where we enjoyed ourselves until evening.
On our way back, we decided to visit Thatha as well. We took pictures along the way because smartphones didn’t exist then. Once we arrived at Thatha, Arib suddenly fell ill. We thought it was nothing serious, just a travel sickness, but his condition worsened. When we got home, he seemed very disturbed.
In the middle of the night, we heard screams from his room. We rushed there, and his parents followed. When we opened the door, we saw Arib floating about three feet above his bed, screaming in a terrifying voice. We began reciting Quranic verses and blowing on him. His body was stiff, and he made strange noises, almost like a woman screaming.
In panic, we called a doctor, but my father insisted this was not a medical issue. We consulted an elder who claimed Arib was possessed by a witch. After confirming with the doctor that nothing was left in his body, we were devastated. Later, when reviewing our trip pictures, we noticed a shadow of a woman behind Arib in one shot. This confirmed what the elder had said.
