Before my marriage, my five friends and I used to frequently visit haunted places. We would search for scary locations like ghost roads, etc. One particularly scary place is called Old Finch, which is a 15-minute drive from our home. It's dark there at night because a girl’s birthday party was celebrated there, and her boyfriend assaulted her and then murdered her. Locals say that her spirit wanders there, and if someone goes there and says 'Happy Birthday,' the spirit appears, and strange things start happening. Fifteen years ago, a boy’s body was found there, and the case remains unresolved. In Canada, a file remains open until the case is solved.
When I was 20 years old, I worked for a company and studied as well. One morning, I was promoted to supervisor, so my friends and I went out to celebrate. We went in my friend’s car, and there were two girls who were friends of ours in the backseat. Now, they are married, and they had two or three guys with them. We left for Old Finch at around 1:30 AM.
When we reached, there is a bridge where the incident with the girl occurred. We stopped the car in the middle of the road since no one was around. I turned off the car’s lights, and so did my friends. We started loudly singing 'Happy Birthday' to see if anything would appear. When nothing happened, we decided to move forward.
Suddenly, my friend who was sitting in the back said that she saw very bright lights and thought there was some strange entity with long hair in front of her. She panicked and I hit the car. I got out to check and found nothing. I thought she was joking, but when the car wouldn’t start, I realized something was wrong. My friend’s car also wouldn’t start, and my car’s sensors began going off, which happens when something is in front of the car.I got out and asked if something was there. Suddenly, I was pushed hard from behind, and my head hit the car’s window, cracking it. I was very angry and thought maybe my friend was playing a prank. I tried restarting the car and checked everything, but couldn’t get a signal on my phone. All of my friends also couldn’t get any network.
We decided to walk and found an old farmhouse. My friend suggested we knock on the door to see if they had a battery booster to start the car. We walked holding hands because everyone was scared. We started walking towards the house. It was very old and broken down. My cousin said it was too late to find anyone and suggested we come back in the morning or call for a tow truck once we had a signal.
As we walked, we felt that someone was coming towards us from the farmhouse. When I looked, the figure was dressed entirely in white, with a height of about 8 feet. We all ran away, feeling like someone was pushing us and scratching us. My friend fell to the ground, and despite our efforts, we couldn’t lift her. I tried too, but it felt like lifting a piece of iron. Eventually, I remembered to recite Ayat al-Kursi, and her weight seemed to lessen. We were able to move forward and reached home safely.
When we checked our bags the next day, we found deep scratches on them. The windshields of our cars were shattered, and on my friend's windshield, someone had written 'Happy Birthday to You.' The place is truly dangerous. After that night, none of us ever went back there at night.
